After a laparoscopic surgery confirmed the diagnosis (of endometriosis), I began treatment, but that was only the start of a long and painful journey. Over the years, had multiple surgeries, countless emergency room visits, and tried nearly every pain medication just to get through the day. The pain was often so severe that I could barely breathe, walk or work.

Eventually, my condition became life-threatening. I became unable to pass stool, and after further testing, I was told I had a completely blocked colon and needed emergency surgery. When I woke in the ICU with a stomach and ostomy bag. I learned the endometriosis had caused the blockage. I lived with the bag for six months, and although it was one of the hardest times of my life, I was grateful to be alive. I was referred to Dr. Natalie Medley in Jamaica.
